Sunset Wood COVID-19 Update 4-30-2020

Dear Tenants,                                                          April 30, 2020

As isolation is getting the best of us all, our staff is working hard to figure out ways that we are still able to “connect.” In addition, we understand that some of you are worried about doctors’ appointments that you have been waiting to attend.

In order to fulfill both of these needs, we have submitted, and were awarded, a grant through the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund Powered by the United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties for two (2) FREE iPads in which we can use! This is a huge opportunity because these pieces of equipment are typically very expensive. In an effort to support all of you, the fund has agreed to pay for these two items.

Moving forward, we will be able to set-up the devices for you to video chat (Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc.) and utilize telemedicine. This means you may be able to meet with your doctor virtually without having to go into an office – AND it will be covered by Medicare! This is a huge opportunity for all of us, especially as we get closer to Mother’s Day which will be different for all of us. More information will be coming next week.

Stay safe & healthy,

Dominick M. Manfredo

Executive Director / CEO
