The Community at Sunset Wood consists of Sunset Wood Apartments,
built in 1984, and Sunset Court, a 2003 addition. Located on Genesee Street in the heart of the Village of New Hartford,
the community is conveniently situated within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, doctors' offices and churches.
The
community is as private or as social as each tenant prefers. The staff consider ourselves an extended family--respecting the
rights of each individual tenant, yet always available should an emergency arise. Our goal is to provide a completely independent,
care-free home experience for as long as possible.
A key feature of each apartment is the 911 pull alarm. Should there
be an accident or a sudden illness, our tenants are just minutes away from a full-response team. In conjunction with our belief
that tenants should have the peace of mind of "aging in place," we work with them, as needed, to find suitable support and
outside help.
To ensure that you experience quality living here we request a medical evaluation from your primary physician
to show that you are able to live independently.
Typically, we have a waiting list for both sections of the community.
There is no application fee or entrance fee and no obligation in submitting an application. If you are interested in becoming
a part of Sunset Wood, we encourage you to request an application and submit it as soon as possible so that we can begin processing
your request. If possible, you should also schedule a tour of the facility.
